Sunday is here. I often think of the despair and heartache the disciples felt on Friday as they watched Jesus on the cross. Taking His last breath, I imagine they looked on in disbelief. How could this have happened? The Messiah they had waited for, dead. Hope for freedom, gone. As they retreated to their safe place of hiding, I imagine they would have felt a heartache so deep, they felt it to the depths of their soul. As I read the gospels, I want to scream at them to hold on because hope is not lost. We know what … Continue reading Because He lives.
He will do it again. It’s so easy for us to forget what God has done. We often read the bible and wonder at how the people of Israel could so quickly forget what God rescued them from. We wonder … Continue reading Sounds of Worship: Do it again

Our memory is an interesting thing. It can retain so much, yet it can so easily forget, or block, so much. I don’t know about you, but in times of stress or heartache, my mind tends to hold onto the … Continue reading Remember.

It is hard to trust God sometimes. Having courage when we are faced with hard decisions is also difficult at times. As believers, we are to trust God and show courage in the face of hard decisions and situations, but that is easier said than done. But God, in His kindness, knowing we would struggle with this, gave us people in the bible to look to for inspiration and encouragement. One of those people is Ruth. Trust and courage in the face of hard decisions. I love the book of Ruth in the bible. It is a story many of … Continue reading Trust and courage
Christmas can easily become about celebrating and festivities, but we need to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Continue reading Remembering that Jesus is the reason for the season

When lyrics hit home so deeply that you feel like someone has taken your journal and turned it into a song? The other day as I listened to ‘As you find me’ by Hillsong United some of the lyrics hit home and put words to things I have been feeling recently: I have wrestled and I have trembled toward surrender Chased my heart adrift and drifted home again …… And every … Continue reading Sounds of Worship: As you find me.
